Grandemare Sofa

Overview

Modular sofa dated 2011 and credited to Antonio Citterio: soft geometric shapes on a cowhide-upholstered wood platform, with grosgrain piping.

Construction

Wood seat frame covered with hide leather on an epoxy-powder-coated metal base, metal armrests and backrest with polyurethane foam and goose-down padding, goose-down seat and backrest cushions.

Floating on a platform

The page describes a metal perimeter frame set back from the edges of the cowhide-clad platform, which it says gives the sofa the appearance of floating.
