Overview
The Grace Lounge Chair is GUBI's contemporary presentation of Tove Kindt-Larsen's 1936 design. The chair combines an organic rattan frame with a generous upholstered seat and a loose back cushion.
Construction
The frame uses flexible rattan shaped into sweeping curves and loops. GUBI says the material flexes under the sitter's weight and adapts to the contours of the body. The selected item has a lacquered leg finish, Natural leg colour and Karakorum, Dedar upholstery (001, Standard).
Specifications
The representative saved variant is item 10108827, listed as Grace Lounge Chair – Fully Upholstered. GUBI gives 785 × 739 × 749 mm overall (W × H × D), converted from 30.9 × 29.1 × 29.5 in. The page lists 17.7 in back height and 2.8 in armrest width for the same configuration.
Story
Pebbles, driftwood and rattan
GUBI links the Grace Chair to the soft curves of pebbles and driftwood collected on beaches in northern Denmark. Tove Kindt-Larsen's 1936 design translates that inspiration into a generous lounge form with a light, looping frame.
Flex and longevity
The product text places the flexibility of rattan at the centre of the design: it bends and shapes under the sitter's weight, adding support while following the body. GUBI also describes the natural material as robust and says that careful craftsmanship can give the chair a long service life.
