Flowing form
Glove-Up is an upholstered chair by Patricia Urquiola whose molded outline carries the curved backrest into poised legs. Molteni&C describes the result as visually light while retaining an inviting degree of comfort.
Internal build
The official technical sheet specifies a metal frame with elastic belts, flexible cold-foamed polyurethane padding, and a bonded velvet-and-resinated-fibre lining. Plastic feet complete the support structure.
Chair dimensions
The GSD1 chair drawing gives 51.5, 55.6 and 81.6 cm as its principal values without labelling their axes. Its external cover is removable by qualified personnel and may be ordered in fabric or leather.
Story
A precise idea softened
Molteni&C frames Glove-Up around disciplined geometry expressed through sinuous, molded lines and gently joined transitions. The back traces a fluid path into the legs, creating an equilibrium between a substantial upholstered body and a light stance.
The chair within Glove-Up
The technical sheet distinguishes the GSD1 chair from the wider GPL1 armchair. GSD1 is the compact, fully upholstered chair form credited to Patricia Urquiola.
