Description

Overview

Antonio Citterio's 2013 Gipsy dining table pairs an open solid-wood base with a rectangular top that narrows at the ends and curves along its long edges.

Construction

Canaletto walnut, ash and oak are published for the frame. The top is lacquered wood, with four glossy back-painted glass colours offered on the three listed articles.

Specifications

Representative code: 020180. Dimensions: 240 × 110 × 71 cm. Two further sizes complete the official sheet. The technical page includes one circular and two rectangular codes.

Story

A shaped dining surface

Unlike a simple rectangle, the Gipsy dining top becomes more slender at its head and foot and slightly curved along the long sides. That outline distinguishes the dining version from the square occasional tables.

Base and surface contrast

The timber support remains visible through the open lower frame, while glossy lacquer or back-painted glass creates a continuous coloured plane above it.
