Freeport Outdoor Sofa

Overview

Antonio Citterio designed Freeport, a sectional outdoor system that Flexform lists as 2021. The manufacturer describes clean, square lines and a base made entirely of aluminium.

Construction

The aluminium structure is epoxy powder-coated, with armrest tops in solid iroko and supports and screws in 316 stainless steel. Seat cushions: polyurethane foam plus polyester fibre, wrapped in water-repellent laminated fabric, and the upholstery is outlined with grosgrain piping. The feet are aluminium on thermoplastic tips.

Square lines in aluminium

Flexform presents the seating system with clean, square lines and an aluminium base, a lightweight but extremely robust material suited to outdoor use for its resistance to corrosion from weather and salt water. The structure is epoxy powder-coated in a palette of colours, combined with roomy square seat and backrest cushions.

Daybed and stone tops

A reclinable daybed completes the system; it stands alone or attaches to other arrangements with fasteners that are quick to hook and unhook. Stone-topped pieces can be added as table-top surfaces, in porphyry, cardoso, lava stone, beola argentata or matt tajmahal.
