Story

Figure skating and an oxymoron

Cassina's sheet gives the inspiration as the precise, elegant movements of figure skating, and the form as an oxymoron of materials and thicknesses. A rigid, geometric structure meets a soft, inviting seat.

Armrests that carry the seat

On the armchair, two thin parallel aluminium sheets joined by crosspieces form the armrests, and an invisible plate resting on them steadies the base and supports the seat, which appears suspended. The sheet calls Flutz the second project by Michael Anastassiades for Cassina.
