Filo Outdoor Sofa

Overview

Filo Outdoor is a 2014 design by Piero Lissoni. The sofa has a curved tubular steel frame that supports a shell left visible in Iroko wood, dominated by soft, cosy cushioning.

Construction

The curved tubular frame is AISI 316 stainless steel of Ø22 mm, either matte satin or epoxy polyester powder-coated in RAL 9010 white or RAL 9017 black. The seating panel is made of Iroko solid wood slats, 28 mm thick, pre-stabilised in drying ovens and treated with a protective oil with high UV resistance. Padding for the seat cushion, armrest and backrest is open-cell polyurethane foam; polyester fibres and a draining fabric cover go over it, and zippers make the outdoor-fabric upholstery fully removable.

Frame, panel and padding

The frame is a curved tube of Ø22 mm in AISI 316 stainless steel, offered in matte satin or painted RAL 9010 white or RAL 9017 black. The seating panel is built from 28 mm Iroko slats that are pre-stabilised in drying ovens and oiled for UV resistance. A draining fabric cover closes over the foam and polyester fibre padding, and zippers release the upholstery. Seat depth is 56 cm.
