Evisa Bed

Overview

The Evisa bed is a Ligne Roset design by Philippe Nigro. Its headboard is reasonably sized, with ridges that may recall the columns of water in the forest waterfalls of Evisa, Corsica, and the slopes of its base are reminiscent of art deco. 35 covering materials are offered.

Construction

An integral base aligns the mattress with the bed frame: a bowl-shaped upholstered base with a plywood structure and plywood slats, made in 2 sections. The headboard is a metal tubing and mesh structure covered in Bultex foam and quilted with polyester.

Specifications

Evisa, Corsica

Philippe Nigro's bed is enveloping and reassuring, and it evokes basking in the natural pools of Evisa, Corsica, where forest waterfalls fall in columns of water. Those columns could have inspired the ridges of the headboard; the same ridges may equally recall sponge fingers or a clafoutis.

Comfort and preciosity

The bed combines visual and physical comfort with an impression of preciosity, from the reasonably sized headboard to the art deco-reminiscent slopes of its base. A high degree of attention has been given to every aspect of it.
