Solid ash and curved plywood

Eryt is a 2023 armchair by Piero Lissoni. Its turned solid-wood frame is ash, while curved plywood forms the backrest and seat. The official page connects its restrained construction with 1950s Nordic design and elements of Japanese culture.

Wood or upholstered seat

B&B Italia offers the chair entirely in wood or with the seat covered in thick leather. ER78SE adds an elliptical cushion in shaped polyurethane and polyester fibre, covered in fabric or leather. Steel is used for the plate and plastic material for the ferrules.

The drawing labels 78 × 67 × 67 cm and marks a 38 cm vertical value at the seat.

Reduced to technical essentials

B&B Italia describes Eryt as a linear combination of materials with a graphic yet welcoming presence. The manufacturer says the design was reduced to a minimum to meet technical requirements, maintain a lightweight aesthetic and provide comfort.

Two cultural references

The ash structure is used to carry both references named on the official page: Nordic rigour from the 1950s and an oriental spirit associated with Japanese culture. The optional elliptical cushion softens the otherwise wood-led construction.
