B&B Italia dates Édouard to 2016 and credits Antonio Citterio. The manufacturer describes the armchairs, which share a name with the Édouard sofas, as striking and functional, available with a high or low backrest and standing out for rigorous yet soft frames.

ED87A_V dimensions

The ED87A_V drawing prints 87, 95 and 92 cm (axes not labelled on the drawing). The low-backrest ED83_V prints 83, 80.5 and 85 cm, and the ED78P_V ottoman 78, 47 and 40 cm.

Construction

The structure inside is built from steel tube and steel profile sections. Cold-shaped flexible polyurethane foam and polyester fibre pad the back and armrests; the seat cushion uses shaped polyurethane in varied densities. Aluminium feet end in thermoplastic ferrules and rise 19.5 cm off the ground. Covers are fabric or leather, finished with raised stitching.

Raised seams that outline the frame

According to B&B Italia, the covers come in a broad range of fabrics and leather and are customised with seams in relief that define the frames with an impressive graphic effect.

Armchair, sofa and ottoman

The armchair shares its name with the Édouard sofas, and the manufacturer says both are designed to furnish relaxing lounge areas that adapt to the space and to personal taste. The drawings include an ottoman, ED78P_V, alongside the two armchair heights.
