Overview

Echoes | Echoes S.H. armchair, designed by Christophe Pillet in 2021. A sleek metal structure carries a seat and backrest of woven paper rush cord (Echoes) or of cowhide over fiberglass and polyurethane foam (Echoes S.H.).

Construction

Metal structure and optional metal armrests with wood inserts. Seat and backrest in woven twisted paper rush cord or pure cellulose paper cord, or in cowhide. Feet rest on thermoplastic tips.

Story

The Echoes family of seating

Flexform introduces Echoes as a family of seating whose design project grew out of different ideas and inspirations: the traditional Scandinavian school meeting Mediterranean style, and rustic and urban styles crossing paths. The page calls it the design of memory, living in the present and projected into the future.

Woven by hand

The paper cord seat and backrest are woven in a process that Flexform describes as seemingly simple but quite complex, still performed entirely by hand. The Echoes S.H. armchair offers a second reading of the same structure, with cowhide and ergonomic contours for the seat and backrest.
