Overview
The Earnest Extendable Table is designed by John Tree and made from FSC-certified solid oak. Muuto describes sculptural arched legs, a clear-cut profile and a tabletop that extends with manual apron pulls and a secure lock.
Specifications
The selected Oiled Oak version is 205 x 100 cm and 73 cm high. A 260 x 100 cm option is also listed. The smaller size seats six and extends to ten; the larger seats eight and extends to twelve.
Construction
The top and base are FSC-certified oak with the stated oil treatments, with felt glides. The EU Ecolabel certification is stated on the product page.
Story
Extending solid oak
The extension leaves remain concealed until the apron pulls are used and the lock secures the extended table. Muuto notes that the grain in the leaves runs in a different direction from the tabletop.
Two sizes
The 205 cm version seats six and extends to ten, while the 260 cm version seats eight and extends to twelve. Both keep the same shape when extended.
