Description

Modular Wall Storage

Mathieu Matégot designed the Démon Shelf in 1954. GUBI presents it as a modular wall-mounted shelving system and identifies its earlier name in Matégot's sketches as Biblio-Démon.

Metal Brackets and Timber Shelves

The selected configuration combines metal brackets with an ash shelf. GUBI offers three shelf lengths, one-, three-, four- and five-shelf arrangements, and several timber finishes.

Labelled Dimensions

For item 10011237, the official drawings label 155 cm width × 27 cm depth × 46 cm height. The stored dimensions describe the same one-shelf configuration shown in the main image and priced by GUBI.

Story

A Library Plan

GUBI traces Démon to Matégot's sketches for executing a library plan, conceived as a model for a domestic library and study. The system's brackets and shelves allow the composition to be adjusted to different wall-storage requirements.

A 1954 Design

The product page and the product-specific specification both date Démon to 1954. GUBI places it within the Matégot grouping and credits Mathieu Matégot as its designer.
