Bar and counter formats
The Comma Stool is Michael Anastassiades's solid wood seat for bar- and counter-height surfaces. Its structure uses a circular seat, a curved back, and legs joined by rectilinear supports.
Seat options
The specification identifies wooden construction across the frame, seat, and back. The seat can remain wood or receive a leather pad. The bar-height version is 19.23 in wide, 18.35 in deep, and 39.73 in high. The counter-height form is four inches lower while retaining the same labelled width and depth.
Story
Geometry with generosity
Anastassiades reduced Comma to a few elemental forms without giving up what he called a generous spirit. On the stool, the round seat and curved back sit above a tall frame of right angles.
Introduced in 2021
Herman Miller's official store identifies the Comma Stool as a 2021 design. The product page presents it as suitable for both living and working environments.
