Description

Overview

Clockwise is a table by Michael Anastassiades for Tacchini that is both simple and monumental. Its legs give an unexpected lightness, as though each one danced to a different rhythm, a metaphor for natural daily gestures. Anastassiades says he prefers to take away rather than add, arriving at a piece when nothing is left to remove.

Construction

The structure is ash or marble. Five structure finishes are listed: one in natural stained ash and four in matt marble.

Specifications

160 x 160 x 73 cm (W x D x H, 0CLWTPSQ160).

Story

Lightness in the legs

Clockwise is simple and monumental at once. The legs are the point of the design: they seem to chase one another, each at its own rhythm, in a metaphor for natural daily gestures.

Taking away rather than adding

Michael Anastassiades describes his way of working like this: "I prefer to take away rather than add: I arrive at a piece as the conclusion of a process in which there is nothing left to remove. Only the essential elements remain, and everything else comes together in a balanced way." Clockwise is built in ash or marble.
