Description
Overview
Konstantin Grcic designed Chap in 2021 as a compact object that can serve as a stool, footstool or side table. It is light enough to move between temporary uses.

Construction
- Recycled polypropylene
- Stated by Vitra as 100% recyclable
- Stackable form
- Stable four-leg construction
Related tray
A high-lipped Chap Tray rests on the stool and additional trays can be stored below the seat.
Story
A deliberately generic object
Vitra describes Chap as familiar because it resembles both a small four-legged stool and a side table. Grcic avoids fixing the design to one function.
Movement and storage
Its low weight and stackability allow Chap to be moved into meetings or workshops, then stored again. The separate tray adds a contained surface.
