Overview

The Carmel Coffee Table is by OEO Studio for GUBI and comes in three sizes. Item 10117283, shown on the page, is the large 87.5 x 70 cm table with a Midnight Black top.

Construction

GUBI calls the Carmel tables its first ceramic tables and uses single-fired Italian stoneware for them. The top is protected by a high-gloss coloured glaze, and a randomized crystal finish is applied to the black and white tops. The specification table lists a glazed ceramic top 0.8 in thick on a metal base with legs in Signal black (RAL 9004).

Ceramic joins the material palette

The Carmel Table Collection by OEO Studio introduces ceramic to the GUBI material palette. The stoneware is single-fired, and GUBI points to its robustness, resilience and organic aesthetic.

Vibrance and energy

The protective high-gloss coloured glaze gives the tables vibrance and energy, evoking, in GUBI's words, the carefree bohemian lifestyle of the Californian coast. Organic contours give the tables a playful, almost creature-like appeal.
