Description
Overview
Calipso is a 2024 outdoor daybed by Antonio Citterio for Flexform, with clean, deliberately simple, uncluttered lines and a sinuous epoxy powder-coated structure.
Construction
Tubular stainless steel forms the structure, in a powder-coat finish with embossed colours. Seat and backrest are a synthetic fibre mesh made to last and to resist weather. A simple mechanism reclines the backrest, and cast-aluminium wheels at the back belong to the castors version.

Story
Simple lines, understated elegance
Calipso draws inspiration from the principles of good design, and its daybeds have clean, deliberately simple, uncluttered lines. They bring an air of understated elegance to settings such as patios and gardens.
A reclining mechanism
A simple mechanism lets the backrest recline, and the version with cast-aluminium back wheels makes it easy to move the daybed from one spot to another. The sinuous structure in powder-coated metal frames a mesh seat and backrest of synthetic fibre.
