Caboche Pendant

Overview

Caboche Plus is the suspension lamp of Foscarini's Caboche family, designed by Patricia Urquiola with Eliana Gerotto (2005). Transparent spheres ring the light source, so the diffused light reaches all around the lamp while the beam also goes both down and up. The spheres are held on the arches by the twist-lock fixing.

Construction

Transparent polycarbonate arches carry a series of PMMA spheres fixed with the twist-lock system. The lamp body is made of two powder-coated steel sheets holding a double-sided LED board designed by Foscarini, mounted on an aluminium disc that acts as a heat dissipator. An opaline PMMA disc protects it from above and a satin-finish PMMA diffuser from below. Three-point suspension on steel cables with a white ceiling canopy; an electric decentralisation kit is available.

The suspension model

The suspension hangs on three steel cables from a white ceiling canopy, and an electric decentralisation kit is available for off-centre mounting. Its double-sided LED board sits on an aluminium disc that works as the heat dissipator, with an opaline disc above and a satin-finish diffuser below.

Sizes and control

The LED suspension comes as Piccola, Media and Grande. The Media is 50 cm across and 20 cm high, takes cables up to 320 cm and can be driven On-Off, dimmable by PUSH or DALI, by MyLight or as Tunable White from 2700 to 5000 K.
