Construction

The tables give a black metal leg with standard glides and a matt gloss (3-15 GU) and fabric upholstery. Guest is rated at 100.000 Martindale and Autumn at 50.000. Foam is standard, and the fire-retardant status of the upholstery is "Standard (Not treated)".

The outline as the idea

For the Brim Chair, GUBI reports, GamFratesi looked at what an outline can do: one unbroken line is made to give the chair both its shape and the way it is sat in. The starting point is the contour of the Beetle Chair, a feature that Brim reduces and carries further.

A softly rounded brim

The page describes the precise edge as following the outer limit of seat and backrest, and the soft rounded brim it forms as something that holds the body up without wrapping it.
