Brig Coffee Table

Overview

Brig is a 2016 design by Antonio Citterio. Flexform developed the coffee table to emphasize the expressive qualities of solid wood through a precisely worked, visually pure frame.

Construction

Canaletto walnut, ash and oak form the solid base choices, with thermoplastic pads below. A coordinated timber surface or a bevelled marble slab completes the table.

Representative code: 023264. Dimensions: 130 × 80 × 35 cm. Other illustrated formats include two compact square tables and a larger rectangular version.

Wood as the starting point

The concept behind Brig began with Flexform's stated aim of making the most of a warm, vibrant material. The design concentrates that idea in the base, whose restrained lines keep attention on the solid-wood construction.

Continuity or contrast

A matching wood top creates a materially continuous table, while a bevelled marble top establishes a deliberate contrast. The official family also encompasses side tables and consoles, extending the same construction language across several functions.
