Overview
Versatile healthcare seating by Ken Reinhard, the Nemschoff Brava Platform Bench from Herman Miller gracefully accommodates patients and guests: a place to set a bag, a comfortable seat to perch on, or an extra surface in small spaces.
Construction
The solid maple frame has mortise and tenon joinery and carries a spring seat. The glides are rubber-cushioned and non-marring (7/8 in), and the bench also lists a clean-out design, replaceable components and a healthcare wood finish.
Specifications
The bench is 27 in deep and 18.8 in high (Nemschoff Brava Platform Bench).
Story
A seat, a perch or a surface
Three uses are named for the bench: a place to set a bag, a comfortable perch, and an extra surface where space is small. Ken Reinhard is the designer, and the bench is aimed at healthcare settings.
Maple frame and sprung seat
Beneath a spring seat, mortise and tenon joinery holds the bench's solid maple frame together. Replaceable components, a clean-out design and rubber-cushioned glides complete the list.
