Overview
Braidense is a free-standing bookcase by Antonio Citterio, dated 2025 by Flexform. Three independent modules combine thick veneered frames with bent-sheet-metal display compartments.
Construction
The structure is offered in Canaletto walnut, ebony-stained ash or oak veneer. Internal metal compartments and the metal base use epoxy powder-coat finishes, and the base rests on adjustable feet. Both faces are finished so the bookcase can also divide a room.
Specifications
- Largest single structure, code 02D772: 200 × 40 × 232 cm
- Modules: three independent horizontal and vertical formats
- Metal finishes: seventeen listed options
Story
A Milanese reference
Flexform says the name Braidense pays tribute to Milan and its historic Braidense National Library. The design is intended to hold books and objects while the placement of metal compartments interrupts the regularity of the shelves.
Independent modules
The collection comprises three self-contained modules rather than an open-ended combination of loose parts. Their finished backs allow placement away from a wall, including use as a room divider.
