Story

A shared space for two

Bench for Two unites the sculptural with the functional in a poetic piece designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1989. Its soft curve and centre angle are said to create a shared space where eye contact happens naturally and conversation unfolds.

From sketch to relaunch

The graphic backrest of concentric circles with a single red dot began as a spontaneous sketch, drawn by Ditzel with a marker directly on the prototype. Fredericia later relaunched the bench with the Danish brand A. Petersen, keeping the black original and adding red, yellow and pink colourways.
