Description

Overview

Belvedere Tech, code 5859, is the outdoor version of Kartell's Belvedere chair by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba. It is dated 2025 on its data sheet. On the page, Kartell says the natural wicker of the original is replaced by a two-coloured synthetic wicker made from a material chosen for its weather resistance, which keeps the woven look.

Construction

The sheet gives a frame of mineral-filled technopolymer made from recycled thermoplastic and a seat and backrest of woven technopolymer. It adds that the fabric used is a technical one with a composite structure, resistant to UV rays, mould and weathering, and that it contains no intentionally added PFAS.

Specifications

On the drawing the chair measures 48 cm across, 60 cm in depth and 82 cm in height and weighs 3.3 kg. Heights are not labelled on the drawing. Five colour combinations are listed, from White with Beige/White to Burgundy with Clay/Burgundy.

Story

The outdoor version

Kartell's text keeps the original Belvedere shape and swaps the natural wicker for a synthetic one in two colours. The page says the material was selected for weather resistance and still looks like woven wicker, so the elegance of the original design is preserved.

For terraces and gardens

According to the page, the synthetic material makes the chair suited to outdoor life without stylistic compromise, and it names terraces, gardens and other open spaces. Kartell describes it as a long-lasting, functional chair for those who want style together with practicality and who like craftsmanship.
