Description

Overview

Avalon is a 2026 dining chair by Antonio Citterio. The armless code 02F911 places two upholstered volumes above a continuous metal base; Flexform describes the result through a balance between softness and restraint.

Construction

The base is metal on thermoplastic tips. The wood seat carries variable-density polyurethane foam with sterilised goose down above it. Metal and wood form the backrest beneath variable-density foam. Fabric and leather covers are removable.

Story

The dining-chair format

The chair belongs to Flexform's dining category and is drawn without arms as code 02F911. Its separate seat and backrest volumes sit on a base that traces the sides and lower front of the chair.

Softness held by a metal line

Flexform's text sets the generous padding against the essential quality of the support. The seat adds a goose-down outer layer over graded foam, while the back combines its metal-and-wood support with variable-density padding.
