Construction

The Oak version is made from oak plywood and solid oak legs with water-based lacquer, using FSC-certified wood.

Specifications

Height: 46 cm (Small, Oak, AROTABSM01). Net weight: 3.18 kg.

Story

A frame warped around the edge

Thomas Bentzen says the idea came from childhood visits to his grandparents' house, where he feared stumbling into their table and spilling something on the carpets. That memory led to a subtle frame warped around the table to border off its edge.

Wood veneer as modern solid wood

Bentzen turned to wood veneer after looking back on Danish design history, where solid wood was often used for sofas, chairs and tables. He wanted to translate the idea of solid wood into a modern, functional language, and he says the opening in the frame gives the design its personality and a welcoming expression.
