Overview

APC (All Plastic Chair) is credited to Jasper Morrison, 2016. Vitra describes a graceful chair that recalls classic wooden chairs, in two-tone colours.

Construction

• Frame in rigid, high-strength polypropylene, moulded in one piece
• Seat and backrest in a more resilient polypropylene
• Backrest on twin shafts cushioned with rubber buffers, so it flexes with the sitter
• Carpet glides or felt glides for hard floors

A wooden chair in plastic

Vitra describes the APC as reminiscent of the simple, classic wooden chairs common in Europe for decades, with its performance and appearance enhanced by an alternative material.

Two plastics, two-tone colours

Using two types of plastic lets the frame be a slightly darker shade than the seat and backrest, which is why the chair is offered only in selected two-tone palettes.
