Description
Overview
The Ailleurs Table lamp is a table lamp by Arthur Van-Poucke for Ligne Roset. A first row of coloured translucent PMMA, in four colours, tints the light of an LED strip, and a second row of sandblasted PMMA cutouts that rotate on their axis modulates the light output.
Construction
The base is laser-cut steel in a satin black epoxy lacquer finish. The cutouts of the second row mix and merge the colours according to their tilt. The electrical cable is black PVC with a black manual switch. Light source: a 45 cm LED strip rated 4.5 W in total, 540 lumens, 3000 K (warm white), with an exchangeable LED fixture. Power supply: plug-in, 17 W - 24 V.
Specifications
Overall size: 55 x 20 x 29 cm (W x D x H). Weight: 2 kg.
Story
Two rows of PMMA
Ailleurs is built from two rows of PMMA. The first row is coloured and translucent, in four colours, and gives its colour to the light of the LED strip. The second row is made of sandblasted PMMA cutouts, each able to rotate on its axis.
Light modulated by tilt
Turning a cutout changes how the colours mix and merge, so the tilt of the cutouts modulates the light output. The base is laser-cut steel in a satin black epoxy lacquer finish, and its LED fixture can be exchanged.
