Overview
45°/Tavolino is a coffee-table design by Ron Gilad. Molteni&C describes its geometric language through an open-box idea: the contours define space while keeping the form visually light and transparent. The page presents the design as suitable for a range of interiors and as available in multiple sizes.

Construction
The datasheet specifies an extruded aluminium structure covered with oak or American walnut veneer, or anodised. The glass top is 5 mm tempered glass; marble tops receive anti-stain and water-repellent treatment; wooden tops use an MDF and 1 mm sheet-aluminium composite panel covered with veneer. Feet are chromed plastic with a non-slip rubber insert.
Representative dimensions
- WGXT6: W 122.1 × D 82.1 × H 37 cm (the vertical value is not labelled on the drawing)
- The datasheet also lists WGXT4 at 82.1 × 82.1 cm and WGXT5 at 122.1 × 122.1 cm, all with the same 37 cm vertical value.
Configuration
WGXT6 belongs to the composite small-table group with shelves. The product page shows the design as a low rectangular table whose open frame keeps the shelf surfaces visually distinct. The official drawings identify the related configuration codes, while the datasheet explains which shelf materials can be used in each position. The code is useful when specifying the larger rectangular arrangement represented by the main image.
Story
A geometric open box
Molteni&C frames 45°/Tavolino around basic geometric shapes and says its essential but complex forms integrate into furnishing schemes with character. The page describes the table as a sculptural yet practical accent whose proportions bring material quality and spatial awareness into contemporary interiors.
Shelf and finish choices
The upper shelf can only be in glass. The lower shelf is offered in transparent extraclear or smoked glass, marble, or the listed wood finishes; the datasheet says marble shelves can only be used in the lower part. Tables cannot be stacked and fastened together.

Ron Gilad's approach
The product page links the table to Ron Gilad's interest in geometry and to the subtle poetry of simple forms. The restrained frame makes the material options legible: transparent or smoked surfaces, stone, and veneered wood all occupy the same basic structural idea.
