Background

Thomas Jenkins is a British designer based in Oslo, as Fritz Hansen puts it. Its Jut pages call him a Norway-based British designer and say the series was made in collaboration with him.

Design Outlook

Fritz Hansen reports that he values quality over fashion and treats simplicity as a key element. He wants objects people can live with for a very long time, and finding the right balance matters to him. In his view a design needs enough presence for the owner to grow attached to it, but not so much that interest fades over time.

Fritz Hansen lists two pieces under his name: the Jut Cabinet and the Jut High Cabinet, each offered with an oak or a marble top. The Jut collection page calls the series a graceful contemporary expression for practical storage.
