Biography
Background
Søren Rose Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio led by Søren Rose, a Danish entrepreneur and designer who was born in Denmark in 1972 and works as the studio's Creative Director. The studio designs products, furniture, lighting and bespoke projects, with offices in Copenhagen and New York.
Signature Style
The studio's product and furniture designs evolve through a data driven process in close collaboration with clients, alongside engineers and sales and marketing people. Durability and feasibility guide the work: it aims for long-term products and concepts that are durable, sustainable and age gracefully, supported by high quality materials. Its own wording for the result is interiors, products and furnishings that are minimally raw and masterfully crafted, yet elegantly refined.
Notable Works
- Hubert Pendant and Hudson Wall/Ceiling Lamp for Audo Copenhagen
- Arena Collection and Avenue Collection (furniture and product pages on the studio's own site)
- The studio's interior projects range from Michelin restaurants to Red Dot award winning industrial products
Legacy
Before the studio, Rose founded the media agency In2media in 1994 (now Charlie Tango), the image-licensing company Trunk Archive in 2006 and, in 2017, Klein, a tiny-house company whose first launch was the A45 by BIG. Today the studio licenses its designs through leading brands and manufacturers around the world.
