Richard Schultzが最初に手がけたKnollのプロジェクトは、Harry Bertoiaによるワイヤー家具の開発と生産を支援するものでした。ヨーロッパでの活動を経て、ペンシルベニアの社内デザイン開発グループに加わります。
アウトドア家具
Schultzはアウトドアデザインで知られるようになりました。1960年に発表したPetal Tableは『Industrial Design』誌の賞を受賞し、715 Chaise Loungeは1963年にMoMAの永久コレクションに加えられました。
1966 Collection
Florence KnollはSchultzに、潮風に耐える家具の制作を依頼しました。長年の開発を経て、アルミニウム製のアウトドアシリーズが1966年に発表されました。
