Randolf Schott was born in 1974 in Torgau and trained as a cabinet maker. According to Thonet's designer page he studied product design from 2000 to 2004 at the Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg, a department of the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau.
Delphin Design and Thonet
After his studies Schott worked as an assistant in the office of Delphin Design. From 2006 until 2017 he was a designer and project manager in Thonet's product development unit.

Thonet's designer page lists one product under his name, the S 1200 desk. Thonet's product page credits it to the Thonet Design Team: Randolf Schott and dates it to 2014.
