Biography
Background
Numéro111 is a design and architecture studio made up of three individuals: Sophie Françon, Jennifer Julien and Grégory Peyrache. Childhood friends from St-Etienne, they studied separately, at the Ecole supérieure d'Art et de Design de Saint-Etienne and the Ecole nationale supérieure d'Architecture de Saint-Etienne, and then began solo apprenticeships before founding Numéro111 together in 2010. The team has two designers and one architect, with offices in Saint-Etienne and Lyon.
Signature Style
The studio follows a global, dialogue-based approach that is not limited to one scale, method or discipline. It describes itself as an observer of everyday life that questions our surroundings and creates collectively, from shared thinking and a shared way of writing. Each project tries to link the design closely with the manufacturing process.
Notable Works
Its fields run from objects and furniture to architecture, interior design and scenography. Its Ligne Roset creations are the Tadam floor standard lamp, the Fizz wall light, the Boroca high stool, the Crush footstool and the Clyde desk and low table.
Legacy
Its clients include AccorHotels, Ligne Roset, Cinna, Songe Lab, Maison Kitsuné, Adagio and Hervé Baume.
