Biography
Background
Federico Sandri completed his industrial design degree at IUAV University in Venice. While he was leading projects for international design companies in Milan he met Daniel Debiasi, and in 2010 the pair decided to combine forces under the name Debiasi Sandri.
Signature Style
Sandri's work with Debiasi starts from a holistic view in which every object forms part of a wider system and has to be understood alongside its surroundings. The studio keeps coming back to a balance between how much an object expresses and how silent it can remain.
Notable Works
Among the projects he co-designed are the Shift easy chairs for Offecct (2016), the Collar coffee set for Stelton (2016) and Variant, a washbasin range for RAK Ceramics (2019).
Legacy
As one of the two partners he shares in the studio's 2013 Plus X Award and in a 2018 Tableware International prize won in the barware category. He also appears as a speaker on the Clerkenwell Design Week site, and the studio's teaching includes IUAV University Venice.
