Desjeux Delaye

Background

Desjeux Delaye is an interior architecture and design agency founded by Dorothée Delaye and Daphné Desjeux. Having worked in the media before, they approach a space as a stage for telling stories. Designers, craftsmen, graphic designers and architects join the team and share one expectation: ideas are not given up to follow trends.

Signature Style

The duo dreams up almost masculine decorative schemes with sharp, clean lines, and likes to mix genres and eras so that spaces do not become 'fixed'. The heritage of each place guides the atmosphere they create, which can range from infinite detail to a monumental object, from measure to excess. Their stated ambition is for every form to carry a spirit of chic informality.

Notable Works

The agency specialises in the hotel industry and has worked on a range of projects since 2018: a hotel in Formentera, two hotels in Paris and two high-end apartments, also in Paris. Product projects include an eponymous lighting collection sold in Bon Marché and produced by MR Agency, a range of furniture for Versant, and the Débourgeoisée bedside table for Ligne Roset.

Legacy

Michel Roset decided to put the Débourgeoisée bedside table and console into production, calling them funny little pieces, attractive and timeless, with a quirky touch.
