Biography
Background
Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri both hold degrees in industrial design: Debiasi graduated from the Politecnico di Milano and Sandri from IUAV University of Venice. They met in Milan, where each led projects for international design companies, and after working in design studios in Milan and London they set up their joint studio in 2010. The studio works in industrial design, interior design and creative direction.
Signature Style
The pair see design as a discipline that brings together personal culture, experience and vision, and they treat every object as part of a bigger system that includes its surroundings. Their projects keep returning to a balance between the expressiveness of an object and its power to be silent, and they work in the space between industrial production and craftsmanship. The studio says it aims for original but enduring products that are meant to defy time.
Notable Works
The studio's own project list includes the Stage floor lamp for Normann Copenhagen (2016), the Shift easy chairs and ottoman for Offecct (2016, with a Shift Wood version in 2020), the Elba seating family for Crassevig (2017), the Collar coffee set for Stelton (2016), the Freddo porcelain-and-glass objects for Rosenthal (2018), the Variant washbasin series for RAK Ceramics (2019), the Ora bowls and tabletop accessories for Stelton (2020), the Beat ceramic tiles for Opificio Ceramico (2025) and the Tray low table for Ligne Roset (2026).
