Biography
Background
Born in Cholet in 1985, Poudray finished his studies at ESAD in Saint-Etienne (the Ecole Supérieure d'Art et de Design). Alongside them he spent a year at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and a year in Italy with the design team of Fabrica, the communication research centre of the Benetton group.
Signature Style
His studio, Amaury Poudray Networks, brings together innovative companies that each have a very specific area of expertise, with the human being at the centre of the network. Innovation and global/local connections are central to its productions. Networks is a design and craft grid that values humanity, ecology and the beauty of manual skills.
Notable Works
For Ligne Roset he designed the Ilot stools, a High stool and a Low stool.
Legacy
Poudray works on furniture design, interior arrangement and artistic direction, with clients that include galleries, schools and manufacturers. He is a professor at the ESAD de Saint-Etienne, where he also co-ordinates 'la Coursive', a bridging course for international students, and he has taught in France, Poland, Indonesia, South Korea and China.
