Collection Story
Origin
Swell is a minimalistic furniture collection by the Swedish designer Jonas Wagell for Normann Copenhagen. A September 2013 press release presents it as a minimalistic sofa with character; a November 2023 release presents the modular sofa and armchair collection.
Design Language
Stringent, Scandinavian simplicity without unnecessary details, with soft, curved shapes and generous padding. The name refers to rising bread, and stitching divides the sofas into sections.
