Collection Story
Origin
Sengu is a family of three pieces designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina: a sofa from 2020, a dining table from 2021 and a coffee table that its sheet dates 2021 and its page 2022. Cassina's sheets tie it to the Orient, a recurring theme of its collections, and the sofa's sheet names Charlotte Perriand's work; the table's and coffee table's pages refer to the ritual reconstruction of Japanese shrines.
Design Language
Natural materials and colours unite the compositions. The coffee table's base of crossed oval wooden beams echoes the sofa's base, and the dining table pairs a wood base with a column or top in other materials; the round table has an optional turntable top.
