Collection Story

Origin

Thonet presents the S 1070 as a three-table programme designed by Glen Oliver Loew in 2004. It places the fixed S 1070 alongside the extendable S 1071 and S 1072.

Design language

Across the programme, a simple wooden tabletop is paired with a finely curved tubular-steel frame. Thonet associates the restrained form and broad surface selection with use in homes and meeting rooms. The frame is available chrome-plated or powder-coated, while the programme brochure lists beech, ash, oak and walnut, seven stains, three laminates and ThonetDur among the tabletop choices.

Three table formats

The fixed S 1070 is 100 cm deep and comes in 200, 220 and 240 cm widths. The S 1071 extending table is 90 cm deep and opens to 200, 240 or 280 cm. The S 1072 is 100 cm deep and changes between 200 and 290 cm. All three are 75 cm high. Square corners are standard; on request, rounded corners retain a straight edge profile.
