Collection Story
Origin
Ro™ is a family by Jaime Hayon that Fritz Hansen builds around a lounge chair of 2013. The footstool dates from the same year, and the sofa joined in 2017. Fritz Hansen gives the Danish word for tranquillity as the source of the name, and the sheet for the sofa speaks of the chair and the sofa as a small unified collection.
Design Language
For the chair, the sheet speaks of a soft, sculptured shape that follows body curves and has no roughness. Its shell leaves the sitter free to stay part of the room or to withdraw into a space of their own. On the sofa the same curves are given a larger scale, and the legs are trumpet-shaped aluminium.
