Origin
The Outline Studio Series is the compact branch of the Outline sofa family that Anderssen & Voll designed for Muuto. In Muuto's story "An Elegant Sentiment" the duo say the Studio pieces came after the first Outline Sofa and the Outline Chair, once they had looked at how people in metropolitan areas were living in ever smaller homes. Espen Voll describes the result as "Reduced yet elegant iterations that were echoed the nature of Outline".
Design Language
Muuto's Studio pages speak of slimmed-down proportions for smaller spaces, naming apartments, hotel rooms and workplaces. The Outline Sofa page adds that the Studio sofa and chair have a smaller depth, 76 cm.
