Origin
The Outline Soft family belongs to the Outline sofa series by the Norwegian duo Anderssen & Voll for Muuto. Muuto's sofa-experience page describes it as fusing simplicity and function and offering new perspectives on the classic Scandinavian sofas of the 1960s. The page says Outline takes its name from its creative inception and is characterised by architectural lines.
Design Language
Muuto's family text pairs a firm silhouette with relaxed, gentle touches: big cushions that wrap the sitter in comfort, small creases in the cover for an easygoing air, and a cushion top layer of foam from production off-cuts. In the designers' words the Outline sofa series has "a soft and deep seat with clean lines and a strong architectural presence, brought forth by its overlapping forms."
