Origin

Cecilie Manz designed the Monolit™ in 2024, a year that the fact sheet and the product pages both give. The sheet describes it as a contemporary chair with a distinct, enveloping form that balances elegance with practicality and comfort. The pages add that the dining and lounge chairs suit intimate, long dining occasions and a relaxing seat in lounge areas; the distinct shape gently cocoons the sitter and leaves a private space for personal items underneath.

Two heights, ten models

The sheet says the series comes in two heights, for dining and for lounging, and lists ten models. The dining armchairs are CM220 and CM220V (upholstered or veneer base) and the low-arm versions CM220LA and CM220LAV; their counterparts with leather piping are CM221, CM221V, CM221LA and CM221LAV. The lounge chairs are the CM230 and, with leather piping, the CM231.

Materials

The seat is a plywood shell with foam and full upholstery. The sheet gives a base either upholstered or in plywood with oak veneer, and says the piping uses harness leather. Textile is chosen as one selection for the whole chair or as two.
