Collection Story
Origin
Fredericia's collection page for the Mogensen 23 Collection lists two products, both sofas by Børge Mogensen: the Mogensen 2333 Sofa and the Mogensen 2335 Sofa. The page offers the range in fabric or leather, and the product pages repeat one line for it: the collection comes in different materials and variations. The 2333 is presented as the final sofa of the designer, finished before he died in 1972, and the 2335 is credited in its page text to Peter Mogensen, an architect and Børge's son, who is said to have brought the last series to completion.
Design Language
Both sofas are fully upholstered, with fixed solid wood legs and separate cushions with removable covers. Fredericia ties the 2333 to Mogensen's liking for vertical and horizontal lines, with inner cushions standing upright beside the armrests. For the 2335 it points to wider cushions, which it says take the edge off the formal look in a respectfully unpredictable manner.
