Collection Story
Origin
Walter Knoll's Fabricius range is named after its creator, the Danish interior designer Preben Fabricius. The company's page describes the Fabricius Armchair and Sofa as classics that tell a story of furniture, and dates the designs to the seventies, when Scandinavian tradition and functional form met casual seating comfort. Walter Knoll's press text names the armchair the Conversation Chair from the seventies.
Design Language
The range is built from steel sections. Its sheet offers the chrome plating either brushed matt or as black chrome, and gives down as the filling of the loose cushions. The glass-topped tables use the same two plating choices. In the press text the arm and the carrying structure surround an inserted seat, which the maker credits for the slimline shape.
