Collection Story
Origin
Connect is the modular sofa system Muuto made with Anderssen & Voll. Muuto presents it as a modern perspective on the sofa typology that the user can customise to their exact spatial and aesthetic needs. The designers describe it as "a modular seating system based on the idea of finding perfect proportional connections between the different components of the sofa."
Design Language
The family is built on long, elegant lines, small discrete feet that create a sense of hovering and lightness, and pointed corners that give the sofa character. Anderssen & Voll say the design shows precise attention to detail and has architectural principles derived from modernism. A smooth cloth is said to accentuate the clean lines, a textured one the taut curves.
