Collection Story

Origin

Coltre is a modular sofa family by the Milan-based design duo Studiopepe. The name is the Italian word for blanket, and Muuto says the design refers to a soft, padded layer resting gently over a defined surface. Muuto previewed it at its Copenhagen headquarters during 3daysofdesign 2026, among three designs due to launch in September 2026.

Design Language

A quilted textile top sits over a structured wood frame, and rows of parallel stitching give rhythm and volume to the sofa and its configurations. Seen from the side, the profile resembles a slice through layered tiers, which Muuto links to an architectural character and sculptural depth.
